It has now been fifteen years since our little family moved to Kathmandu to stay there for one year. The year after we left Kathmandu, the people of Nepal were granted their biggest wish: PEACE (however fragile). An agreement on the ceasefire was signed, the King had to resign and 2008 Nepal was declared a republic. The political parties started working together towards a new constitution. 2015 a new democratic constitution came into force and 2017 the first ordinary election in 18 years was held!
On the 25thof April 2015 the country was severely affected by earthquakes. As many as 10.000 may have lost their lives and more than 500.000 lost their homes. I haven´t been able to reach all of our friends after the earthquake, and still don´t know what has happened to everybody.
